Born in Virginia to Texan parents, but raised in Colorado, I like to think that I'm from the United States—although choosing a more specific location might prove problematic. 

Regardless of my location, I have always loved to read. Books were a way to leave behind the monotony and stress of everyday life and escape into a vibrant new world full of possibilities. I can remember getting into trouble in class not for texting, but for reading under my desk. To this day, I have no sincere regret for those stolen moments with those stories.

As time went on, I realized that I had an amazing ability: I was literate, which meant that I could not only read, but also write. From that moment, I have strived to create worlds and work that bring to others the same joy which literature has brought me.
